  1. This kid was destined to be a great athlete considering his fantastic bloodlines. He is reportedly the son of former Georgia Tech great Brian Oliver. J.P. is presumably named after his grandfather, Jean-Pierre Tokoto, a one-time member of the Cameroon national soccer team.

And no, Tokoto is not related to this Brian Oliver from the Class of 2010.

  3. He is reportedly the son of Brian Oliver, but let me add, reportedly, that man has never had anything to do with him. His loss, wouldn't you say? His Grandfather, Jean-Pierre Tokoto, did a wonderful job teaching him all of his soccer skills at a very early age. JP is an awesome soccer player! His Step-Father, Trevor Trimble, has done an amazing job, and only knows him as a father, and JP calls him Dad... concerned blogger...

  4. Correction: JP only knows Trevor as his father and calls him Dad...

  5. Thanks, concerned blogger, for shedding some light on the situation. I agree it's Oliver's loss. But more importantly it's great to hear the support system around J.P. is rock solid.

Do you like the NCAA tournament's new 8-team "first-round" format?

What should Wisconsin do with the newly vacated scholarship?
